It has been announced that Taking Back Sunday’s newest effort, an album entitled “New Again”, is due to be released on the 2nd of June. There is much speculation as to whether this will actually be worth listening to or not, after the miserably bland, overproduced and mainstream Louder Now album of 2006. The general conclusion is that it probably won’t be. (A song clip can be found on their website).
My feelings upon the notion of a new Taking Back Sunday album are as follows:
- Denial.
“This can’t be happening. The world doesn’t need any more bad emo-pop.” - Anger.
“How ridiculous. Are they philistines? Do they suffer from some form of musical retardation?” - Bargaining.
“If you release this album, mayn’t you retreat into obscurity and never be heard of again? Pretty please?” - Depression.
“If this is what has become of alternative music, then may we all rot in hell.” - Acceptance.
“I suppose I’ll just have to resign myself to the fact that this band still exists.”
If, God forbid, you wish for more information upon this subject, begone! Get thee to a nunnery!
Or failing that, to Taking Back Sunday’s website.
